Debora “Debbie” Vosen Smith passed away April 8th, 2019 at Northern Montana Care Center with her son Colby at her side.  She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after passing.  She was born on November 19, 1951 in Havre, MT to Bill and Betty Vosen.  Debbie went to school in Kremlin and graduated High School in 1969.

Debbie from a young aged developed a passion for horses that she carried through her whole life.  She infectiously shared that passion with those around her.  She was excellent rider and trained her own horses and others as well as gave riding lessons right up until her illness kept her from it.

Debbie spent a considerable amount of time living at the family farm especially as her health waned at the end.  She enjoyed being with her farm family and they loved having her.  She added to everyday adventures with her wit and humor.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and infant son Justin.

Surviving her are her children Colby Smith and Kelsey (Zachary) Rubens; Sisters Marci Bergren, Teresa (Dave) Dube, Sandi Vosen; Brothers Joe Vosen, and Jim (Gloria) Vosen; numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Debbie had three children, though her first born, Justin, passed away shortly after his birth.  Her children were her true loves, and she adored them.  Being their Mother was everything to Debbie.  She raised her children to be good people and have faith in God.

Debbie was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  One of Debbie’s most memorable trips was to Israel in 2017 where she got to live her dream of touring the Holy Land.

Debbie faced personal trials and poor health the last ten years, but through all of it she kept her faith, her love for the Lord Jesus Christ, and she never complained and always thought the best of people.

Services of remembrance will be held 3:30pm on Saturday April 13, 2019 at Assembly of God Church, in Havre, MT and memorials can be made to any person’s choice.

Please visit to leave a message of condolences for her family.

Sadness hits us as we hear of Debbie's passing.
She was such a wonderful lady and yes, she shared
her horse love and her great faith with us too when we all lived in Havre years ago.
Our hearts go out to her children and family.
May our Lord bless you with precious memories
and comfort at this very sad time in your lives.

i gradated from Havre High in 1969 and left Montana in 1979. Though its' been a long time...Debbie made lasting impressions by being such a really nice person & great looking lady. I am so very saddened she suffered bad health. in later years. She was one of those who no one ever forgets... .

I had only recently heard of Debbie's passing. I knew she had been battling ill health but was hoping she was winning her battle. Although late in sending my condolences, I wanted her children and siblings and their families to know you have all been in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I haven't seen Debbie for quite a few years since our days at Kremlin Schools but her picture looks just like I remember her! When we grow up in a small town, the people around us remain our family and friends forever, even if years go by since we last saw one another! May your many happy memories of Debbie bring you love and peace!
